The 100 club was initiated eight ago to assist with fund raising for capital projects for the village hall.
Today there are indeed 100 members each contributing £12 per year. This is a huge contributory effort by our villagers making us a true "100 club" and the support from the village is very much appreciated by our village hall management committee. Of course, you don't have to be a resident to join. Support from non-resident 'friends of Chilton Foliat' are also most welcome!
The rules of the club are simple with 50% of the income awarded in prize money, and 50% given to the village hall, all in accordance with gaming commission regulations.
During this year there will be 6 draws for £100 each made up by one £50 and two £25 prizes. £600 will be given to the village hall fund. Over a 5 year period this will raise £3000 for the hall. To date, three draws have taken place with another due on Halloween and a special double draw at Christmas.
The 100 club has now completed the purchase of 80 new conference standard chairs and would welcome suggestions for the next project. Previous projects involved the purchase of new folding tables, the repair of leaded windows and full size perspex internal window covers.
