The Chilton Foliat Fete 2005

Where does the money go?

There are two principle beneficiaries of our village fete: The Church and the Village Hall.  They are two of the most important community buildings in our village, and are also both of historic interest.  Both are in need of substantial repairs to their roofs, and we're the fete will raise funds towards these good causes. Click here to find out more about the Church and the Village Hall

If more than £5,000 net is raised, 10% of the total net will be allocated to the Youth Club and Chilton Chicks (i.e. 5% of the net each), and 45% of the total net will go to each of the Church and Village Hall.  £500 will be retained to fund pre-fete expenses for next year's fete which this year have come out of the Chair's pocket.  This is intended to make the post of Chair truly inclusive - anyone can take on the post without worrying whether their personal expenses can take the strain or not.

*** STOP PRESS - dateline 30 June 2005***

As a total of £6,000 net will have been raised by the end of September, the fete has now made payments on account (pending the final sum being known in September) to the Village Hall, St Mary's Church, The Youth Club and Chilton Chicks (Mums and toddlers group). Full details are available from the treasurer, Nick Fritz, either by email (click here) or by phone on 01488 681604.

By helping the fete, you are helping to protect a part of Britain's rural heritage, and help support a small rural community.
